Barcode Validators check the barcode’s correlation to a specific item. Some verifiers claim to perform this test, but can only do so in a special mode, and can only do so against a user-loaded database. If the user’s database is flawed, the validation test is meaningless.
Validation is only meaningful if the database is the same one being used in the supply chain.
